Mana Public Arts Presents Project 270
Learn how the 2024 initiative has harnessed the power of street art and activism to inspire civic participation nationwide.
Aug 13, 2024 · 2 Minute ReadIn the lead-up to the 2020 Presidential election, Mana Public Arts launched Project 270, an innovative campaign aimed at empowering young voters aged 18–36 to actively engage in the democratic process. Through this initiative, nearly 70 talented street artists from across the nation were enlisted to create visually compelling posters representing each of the fifty states, Puerto Rico, and several key U.S. cities.
The success of Project 270 is now celebrated in a new book titled Project 270: 50 States, 70 Voices, 1 Message, set for release on September 28, 2024. This book captures the passion and dedication of everyone involved in the project, featuring prints of each stunning poster and profiles of every participating artist. It offers an inspiring glimpse into how art and activism can unite to energize young voters and emphasizes the power of creative expression in shaping our democracy.
As the November election approaches, Mana Public Arts has launched a second Project 270 initiative for 2024. This campaign aims to further energize communities and amplify the message of civic participation. In collaboration with I am a voter.®, a nonpartisan organization promoting civic engagement, Mana Public Arts continues to unify young and marginalized voters through empowering messaging, building on the momentum of the original project to inspire people nationwide to make their voices heard.
