As the 2024 election season approaches, it’s crucial for Miami-Dade residents to be well-prepared and informed about the voting process. Stay in the know with our comprehensive rundown of upcoming election dates and important information: 

Dates to Mark on Your Calendar:

  • Primary Election Voter Registration Deadline: Confirm you’re registered to vote or change your party affiliation by July 22, 2024. Per Florida Law, only voters who are registered members of a political party may vote in their respective party’s primary election. 
  • General Election Voter Registration Deadline: Make sure you’re registered to vote by October 7, 2024. You can check your registration status or register online through the Florida Division of Elections.
  • Early Voting Period: Take advantage of early voting in Miami-Dade County from October 21, 2024, through November 3, 2024, for a convenient voting option ahead of Election Day.
  • Vote-by-Mail Requests: If you prefer to vote by mail, requests must be received by the Supervisor of Elections no later than October 26, 2024. Ensure your completed ballot is received by 7:00 PM on November 5, 2024, to be counted.
  • Election Day: The final opportunity to cast your vote is November 5, 2024. Polls will be open from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

What You Need to Know:

  1. Registration: To vote in Miami, you must be a U.S. citizen, a resident of Miami-Dade County, and at least 18 years old. Unsure about your registration status? Visit the Florida Division of Elections website to verify and update your information.
  2. Polling Locations: Your voter information card will list your designated voting location. On Election Day, you must vote at your assigned precinct. For early voting, you can choose from multiple convenient locations across Miami-Dade County.
  3. Identification Requirements: Bring a valid photo ID with a signature to the polling location. Acceptable forms include a Florida driver’s license, state ID card, U.S. passport, military ID, or student ID, among others.
